Norris Academy is proud to share a rich history with the Norris Adolescent Center, including a firm belief that every child in our care deserves to have a voice in his education and care.  In 1917 Niel Norris set of to install in his “charges” a moral compass, a work ethic, the value of education and recreation, good citizenship, independence, all the tools to pursue a healthy productive life, thereby becoming a credit to themselves and society.

Since 1924, Norris has been open as a public school  district– the smallest district in Wisconsin – to serve the the needs of underserved boys within the district boundaries and beyond. The original mission is not much different from today.
