Learner Centered Supports

The Norris School District Macrocosm distinguishes a learner centric approach to developing agency and leadership at all levels. LEARNER CENTERED SUPPORTS  is one of the core principles of the macrocosm.   

Learner Centered Supports are the scaffolded practices and tools adults use that build self-directed learners who are invested and have agency in their own learning.  

Learner Centered Supports consist of clusters of practices that create the culture of learning and make space for learner success.  These practices are specifically designed to reduce barriers for young learners.  The Learner Centered Support practices are often clustered around a theory of action and a belief about learning.  Examples include:
