Norris is committed to providing an educational experience for all learners that is community-based, learner-centered, and trauma invested. This approach fosters a culture of learning that focuses on developing Dynamic Leaders who are Socially Embedded learners that have high levels of Learner Agency and are committed to being creative Solution Seekers. Our unconventional approach to ensuring ALL learners have the supports they need to pursue their dreams often results in a unuique learning experience for ALL learners.
The Norris School District Handbook is designed to help learners and families navigate our innovative approach to ensuring all learners have what they need to succeed. The handbook is essential for providing clear communication and guidelines in order to deeply understand the opportunities for learning, outcomes, policies, and procedures for learners, families, and staff across the Norris Community Based Learning Ecosystem. The handbook also acts as a valuable resource for orientation, helping new members of our learning community understand its operations and supports. The handbook plays a crucial role in creating a well-organized, respectful, and safe learning environment.
The Norris School District handbook is not all inclusive and is updated frequently to capture any important iterations. It is the responsibility of each learner and their family to become familiar with the contents the Learner Handbook.
