Norris strives to create a community-based and learner centered ecosystem.  The community is a playground for learning and offers many opportunities that are not possible within the brick and mortar walls of a school building.  Fluid interactions with the community benefit both learners and the community itself. By creating learning hubs and field sites througought the community, and inviting community to intereact with youth in meaningful ways, we can make possible opportunities for youth that illuminate a path to a fulfilled life. The community welcomes successful contributing members for a sustainable future.

Norris values partnerships with the community to create a learning ecosystem by connecting the community and global assets in ways that are responsibe to the agency, interests and diverse needs of our learners.  Partnerships that provide places for young people to explore hobbies and interests, get expertise for academic and career based pursuits/projects, job shadow, engage in work based learning experiences, and internships that create a level of learning and engagement never possible before.

There are many opportunities within the Norris School Distirct for individuals to make the vision of a learner-centered community-based ecosystem a reality.  Whether you are a parent/grandparent, retiree, working professional, tradesman, small business owner, artist, non-profit organziation, advocacy group, park and recreation department, cultural organization, or any organization supporting the well being and development of youth you can contribute to the success of Norris learners and the well being of the community.  Many opportunities exist including volunteering, donating, community partnerships, and facilitating extended learning opportunities. In addition, we have various employment opportunities to grow our team.

Over the years we've had many community partners that have enriched the educational experience of our learners on and off campus. With these partnerships, we have been able to engage our learners in meaningful ways.
